Welcome

So, this blog is my personal record of my trip to the U.S. and Canada in the summer of 2008. I have just graduated from furniture college here in Scotland, and this trip is all about meeting and learning from my heroes - of furniture, woodwork, ecology, and alternative living. 

I applied for grant funding from the wonderful Winston Churchill Memorial Trust - for the Brits among you, check it out as they support all sorts of trips abroad!

I am also a capoeirista, and my nickname is Um Braco Cabeludo, which means 'One Hairy Arm' hence the name of the blog. I will of course be visiting some capoeiristas along the way too (yay!).
